We inspire excellence and professionalism in each generation of
Pilates Teachers.

The Fletcher Pilates® Program of Study is the most comprehensive and definitive international Pilates educational program of its kind. Our program derives from the physical conditioning method developed by Joseph and Clara Pilates in the 1920s and expands to include its evolution and interpretation by Pilates Master Ron Fletcher. The multi-dimensional Comprehensive Program is the only teacher-training program to be endorsed by Ron Fletcher.

OUR MISSION

In body, breath, mind and spirit we preserve the inspired evolution of Body Contrology, the work of Joseph and Clara Pilates, as articulated by our Master Teacher, Ron Fletcher. As he mentored and taught us, so we will teach and mentor others in the physical transformation that leads from strength to balance to grace.

About Fletcher Pilates®

The international Pilates revolution owes much of its momentum to Ron Fletcher. A 20-year student and protégé of Joseph and Clara Pilates, Fletcher’s organic, movement-based approach to the original Pilates method has inspired generations of Pilates teachers and practitioners. As Fletcher Pilates® continues to grow in popularity, so too grows the demand in studios around the globe for Fletcher Pilates® Teachers. Our licensed post-secondary school, the Fletcher Pilates® Program of Study, satisfies this demand and ensures the consistency and continuity of the Fletcher Pilates® lineage.

Comprehensive Program Overview

Preparing to Enter the Program

Prerequisite Hours
As it is essential for participants to learn and know the Fletcher Pilates® method and technique in their own bodies before learning to teach this work to others, applicants are required to complete at least 30 private sessions, the Preparatory Course before entering the Comprehensive Program. The Fletcher Pilates® Preparatory Course (described below) can be substituted by 30 hours of private sessions or group classes if the Prep Course is unavailable. The full prerequisite student process generally takes three to six months of concentrated study. Prerequisite requirements will be modified for those who have completed another comprehensive Pilates teacher training program.

Preparatory Course
Our Preparatory Course is designed to give students an overview of the Fletcher Pilates® syllabus from a student’s point of view. Based on Ron Fletcher’s philosophy of “knowing movement in the body,” the Preparatory Course encourages experiencing each piece of movement before entering the Foundational Program to learn to teach it. Structured as a 30-hour program, the Preparatory Course is the most efficient and affordable means of reviewing the Fletcher Pilates® syllabus. The Preparatory Course is taught exclusively by our Fletcher Faculty who mentor and prepare students to enter the Comprehensive Program —from application through completion.

If you do not live near a Fletcher Faculty member, you may prepare to enter the Comprehensive Program by studying with any of our Fletcher Pilates Qualified Teachers.

Entrance Evaluation and Interview
After the initial application process and prior to the Program start date, each applicant is required to complete an Entrance Evaluation demonstrating basic understanding of the syllabus and the Pilates Movement Principles. Applicants will also participate in an Entrance Interview during which faculty will communicate results of the Entrance Evaluation. A specific preparation plan for entering the Comprehensive Program will also be discussed at this meeting.

If you have any questions about how to prepare to enter the Comprehensive Program, please contact Fletcher Pilates® at info@fletcherpilates.com or 888-732-8884 and we will review your options.

– Pauline Middleton

After 40+ years of athletics, 30+ years of top-to-bottom business experience and 7 years of studying classical Pilates with the industry elite and otherwise, I longed for work more refined in its physicality, more fully and clearly defined in its pedagogy and, in a business sense, vertically integrated for full service. I have found my home in the Fletcher Program of Study®, a technically superior, impeccably run comprehensive program that includes and enhances my classical background and is wholly dedicated to developing my unique movement and teaching potential.

The Program of Study is demanding, challenging and thought-provoking - to say nothing of very hard work! For me, it brings movement, balance and centering back into my life - which for many years had been missing. For this I thank Mr. Fletcher and the Program of Study for presenting a well-run, exciting and professional program.
